Worship Services
All are welcome at Clarendon Presbyterian Church. We are a community
that tries to reflect the love and justice of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We invite all those with faith and with doubts to join us as seekers of
God's amazing and inclusive grace and truth.
Worship services are held every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM., and last about
an hour. Worship is followed by coffee hour in the lobby, an informal time
to meet, greet and get to know the other worshippers.
Our worship service is typical in most aspects, with hymn singing, a choir,
organ music, congregational prayers, announcements, readings from the Bible,
a sermon, and sharing of prayer concerns. Following the children's sermon,
Sunday school is held for ages 5 - 12 with child care available for children
under 5.
In one regard, worship at Clarendon is different than at most churches: following the sermon, we have a discussion; worshippers may comment or raise questions, or share with others the thoughts to which they have been inspired. The discussions are often lively and always thought provoking, often offering glimpses into the ways others in the congregation sense the spirit of God working in their lives.
