Alice (she/her/hers) began as our Pastor (Stated Supply) in April of 2020, a few weeks into Clarendon Presbyterian entering into the age of virtual worship.  She is investing her time getting to know the rich stories of the CPC Community, leading the community in worship, providing pastoral care, and listening for ways that CPC can continue to invest in being a neighbor to the Arlington and Northern VA community.  She is particularly interested in how CPC can celebrate the church's deep relationship with the LGBTQIA+ community, how CPC can best partner with those who are most vulnerable particularly Black Indigenous Peoples of Color (BIPOC), and how CPC can serve as a beacon and place of welcome for all who come to the church.

Alice comes to CPC celebrating 10 years of ordained ministry with experience serving as the Associate Pastor and Interim Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca, NY (2010-2014) and as the Associate Pastor and Deputy Head of Staff at The New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington DC (2014-2020).  Prior to ordination, Alice served as the Youth Director at Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, VA (2008-2010). In these various calls, her focus has been on growing creative worship, fellowship and mission experiences for families, leading young adult fellowship, and advocating for those experiencing homelessness.  She holds a Masters in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a BA with honors in International Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.  She is currently pursuing a certificate on Executive Leadership for female leaders through Iron Sharpening Iron, a Lily Endowment funded program through Princeton Theological Seminary.  For the National Capital Presbytery, she is a member of the Church Development Committee. She has previously served on the Racism Task Force and as Moderator/ Vice Moderator of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic.

Alice lives in Arlington with her husband, two young children, and not so young black Labrador mix.  For centering and sometimes as a form of prayer, Alice enjoys running outside, yoga, and gardening.  These days, she also spends a lot of her time helping her children with virtual learning and making a lot of home cooked meals!

She hopes to connect with you these days over Zoom, email, text or phone call.
